Trip Outings Summer 2018

Bowling at AMF College Lanes

Date: Saturday, May 19, 5:00pm $40 • $35MDR

Price includes transportation, bowling and supper.

Croquet, Cookies & Lemonade at Beverly Park

Date: Sat. June 16, 4:00pm $15 • $10MDR

DEADLINE TO ENROLL: June 13

Price includes croquet, cookies and lemonade.


Schlitterbahn

Date: Sat., July 21, 11:00am $65 • $60MDR

DEADLINE TO ENROLL: June 29

Price includes admission and transportation; participants responsible for food/drink. **Mandatory Meeting Wednesday, July 18th at 5:15pm at SPJCC


Movie Night at SPJCC

Date: Sat., August 18, 7:00pm $15 • $10MDR

DEADLINE TO ENROLL: August 15

Price includes movie (TBA), drinks and popcorn.

 

Programs

MP Fitness

Fun and interactive 45-minute program that is a safe and effective high & low-impact exercise class created for the Mission Project participants, but open to everyone. This non-intimidating fitness class takes you through a variety of cardio, toning, and stretching exercises designed to keep you healthy and feeling great! Instructor: Theo Pappas


WED: 5:45-6:30pm ($6 Pit-Stop)


MP Karate

This karate class has been created to offer participants with special needs a format of karate that allows for a special system of belts and more individualized training. Senseis Brad Courtney, Tyler Murphy and Sidney Thompson


WED: 7:00-8:00pm ($8 Pit-Stop)


What is the Mission Project?  

The Mission Project enables capable adults with developmental or cognitive disabilities to live independently and safely in the community with minimal support. The program is based in Mission, Kansas, because it’s a well-run community that has jobs, services, entertainment and a community center within walking distance of apartment complexes. Mission Project participants live full lives in a supportive community. They have numerous opportunities for growth and development, including: finding and maintaining meaningful employment; socializing with peers; learning new skills in a variety of classes, including acting, karate and computer use; participating in recreational and cultural activities; getting and staying fit and developing healthy, safe lifestyles; developing leadership skills and giving back to their community.
