Proposed Non-Discrimination Ordinance

The Finance and Administration Committee will consider a draft non-discrimination ordinance at their meeting on November 14, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. The ordinance would provide uniform legal protection within the City of Mission prohibiting discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, marital status, familial status, or veteran status. In addition, an ordinance would provide a complaint and enforcement process.

The Committee will discuss whether to move consideration of the ordinance to a future City Council agenda for formal action and possible adoption. The Committee will hear public comment on November 14. The November meeting materials, including the draft ordinance, are available online.
