Last Updated: September 3, 2019 Broadmoor AsphaltWork will switch to the west side of the street on Wednesday, September 4. Pedestrians should use extra caution during the initial phase of work while demolition occurs. Please obey all signage. The work on the west side will begin with the installation of stormwater infrastructure, followed by demolition of the existing pavement and sidewalks.
Traffic Control Traffic control is in place for the second phase of work which will take place in the western lane of Broadmoor Street. Traffic will be oneway, nouthbound during this phase. Driveway entrances to all businesses will be maintained during construction. *** Please maintain safe practices during construction. Cutting through parking lots is prohibited. *** Businesses will remain open during construction.
Project Details The project includes full-depth street reconstruction between Johnson Drive and Martway, stormwater upgrades, new street lighting, improved sidewalk connectivity, and reduced lane width for an improved pedestrian experience. A new traffic signal installed at the Johnson Drive and Broadmoor intersection, and the intersection will be treated with mill and overlay.
Completed Work
Bases of street lights and the traffic signal have been set. Installation of street light bases. Pouring sidewalks and curb on the east side of the street. Laying first two layers of asphalt on the east side of the street. Demolition of concrete and pavement on the eastern side of the project. Installation of stormwater infrastructure on eastern side of the project. Utility relocations have been completed. - Johnson County Wastewater has completed their work in the area. - AT&T has completed repair to manhole covers in the Johnson Drive intersection. - Kansas Gas has completed relocations of their utility lines in the area. - WaterOne has completed replacing the water line in Broadmoor Street between Martway and Johnson Drive.
