New Bulky Item Collection Schedule for 2020
Bulky Item Pick-Up will begin the week of January 27. Included below are the bulky item pick-up dates for 2020. Up to three bulk items per residence will be collected on your regular collection day on the dates below. Please read on for more details on what is allowed.
Bulky pickup schedule:
January 27 - 31
                 February 24 - 28               
March 23 - 27
April 27 - May 1
May 25 - 29
June 22 - 26

July 27 - 31
August 24 - 28
        September 28 - October 2      
October 26 - 30
November 23 - 27
December 28 – January 2
 

Please follow these tips for bulky pickup collection:
• Bulk items include couches, chairs, dressers, mattresses, etc.
• Bulk item collection excludes electronics waste items such as TVs and monitors, auto parts, tires, construction debris and any items containing Freon.
• Residents who wish to set out appliances or have extra bulky items to be collected, should contact WCA customer service at least 24 hours in advance at (816) 380-5595 or at wcawaste.com/mission-kansas.By the end of the day Friday, crews have collected most of the Deffenbaugh/Waste Managment roll carts have been collected from homes.

Switching rollcarts
Residents should now all have WCA trash and recycling rollcarts, and the Deffenbaugh/Waste Management rollcarts should have been collected. If this is not true for your household, please contact the City and provide your address to Neighborhood Services. 913-676-8360.

FAQs:

WCA Rollcarts
Is my collection day going to change? The majority of residents collection day will remain the same with WCA as it was with Deffenbaugh/Waste Management, an introductory letter was sent out to residents in December from WCA confirming your scheduled collection day, or you can view a collection map on WCA's website here.

Are the trash regulations/rules changing? The majority of trash, recycling, yard waste, and bulky items regulations will stay the same, but will have some slight changes. Bulky Item pickup dates are listed above. Holidays observed will only be Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. You can view more information online at the WCA page for Mission residents. Will my trash cart size stay the same? All trash and recycling carts will be 65 gallon. WCA will not be able to provide any smaller or larger cart sizes.

My new trash cart lid doesn't close all the way, and it looks dented. Can I get a new one? The new carts will soften as they sit out, and should be looking good soon. If your cart does not function after a week or two, or if there is something significantly wrong with your new cart, please contact WCA at the number above.
